Recent development of ultrashort optical pulse technology provides us to obtain easily the intense optical pulses with the electric field above 100MV/cm. Corresponding field for the magnetic components for the electromagnetic wave is 33T, which is large enough to drive spin motion. Here, I introduce the nonlinear spectroscopy in NiO with antiferromagnetic resonance at 1THz and discuss the spin control technology using the frequency-converted ultrahort magnetic pulses.
