Sr2VO4 has a layered perovskite structure same as La2CuO4, which is known as the parent compound of copper oxide indicating the high temperature superconductivity. These are Mott insulators at ambient pressure[1]. Sr2VO4 under high uniaxial (c axis) pressure is a potential candidate for high temperature superconductivity[2]. In our experiment, we measured the temperature dependence of electrical resistance of Sr2VO4 under high pressure. The slope in the electrical resistance at low temperature is suppressed by applying pressure, and the sample is likely to get metallic. However superconductivity has not been observed. We are planning to perform the experiment by applying pressure further.
