Group Discussion:

You introduce the outline of your own research field to the colleagues in your group on 11th and 18 th Apr. It is okay to introduce your works for the graduation. Remind that your colleagues are in the various research field (physics or chemistry). Simple explanation is requested in the group discussion. You should list up what keywords is beyond their understanding. It may support your presentation in the colloquium.

Please introduce them to us on the party on Aug. 1st. “Wikipedia” may support your searching, but it is for non-scientists. Please prepare Wikipedia-like explanation for “scientists”.
Presentation:
We assign your presentation from 25th Apr. to 25th July. See the schedule. In your presentation, you can introduce the outline of your own research field to the audience in the various field. You don’t have to introduce your experimental results.
We assign 15 min for presentation, 8 min for discussion, and 5 min for the supplementary comments of your supervisor .
-
At first, please check the schedule table, and ask your supervisor (in your laboratory) and your tutor (outside your laboratory) to attend the colloquium with your presentation. We request the attendance of your supervisor because he/she will give us the supplementary comments after your presentation. If the schedule is not convenient for you, please rearrange the schedule and inform us (the organizers, your supervisors, and your tutors etc) on the new schedule.
-
You have to prepare the abstract and send it to the organizers (Yamada and Nagai) by e-mail by 17 o'clock Friday before your presentation. We will upload your abstract on the site of the M1 colloquium. Please use the following html format of the abstract. (Japanese abstract is not necesary.)
- You have to send your presentation file to the organizers (Yamada and Nagai) by e-mail or your USB sticks after your presentation. If the size of your file is too huge, please reduce it. We will upload your presentation file on the website, which we can access from PC with the limited IP address. It is allowed to remove the slides which you and your supervisor do not want to open.
- Before your presentation, you have to print out the materials (A4 sheets, 4 slides per each side) and provide them to the all participants.
- You are a chairperson of the colloquium if your presentation is assigned next week. Chairpersons have to take the bell and timer from the MIRAI office room (room C101), print out the score sheets (34 sheets), and provide them to the participants. The score sheet is for checking your attendance and mutual evaluations. After the colloquium, the chair persons have to collect the participants’ score sheets and count up with the excel sheets. You give the excel sheets to the organizer (Yamada and Nagai) by the e-mail, and give the original score sheets to the organizer next colloquium. Since there are two or three chairperson, please decide the responsibility for each task before the colloquium.
